I don’t know about you, but I’m somewhat of an organizational freak. Everything has a place and everything has to be put away, or I get uneasy. Mix this with being an Interior Designer and you come up with some aesthetically pleasing ways to organize just about everything. I know a lot of you don’t have what I term as mild OCD, but I do know that a lot of you wish you were more organized.

Whether I’m out shopping for clients or for myself, I’m constantly looking for decorative boxes, baskets, vases, etc. that can be used for more than just making a room pretty. I also look for pieces that have good “bones” that could possibly be modified into something much cooler(like I talked about in my last blog).

Most of us have an overabundance of shoes, spices, necklaces, medicine (you name it…) that need to be easily accessible.

Here are some examples of ways that you can be organized and still look chic:

Necklaces hung on a decorative bulletin board.

Cotton balls, make-up brushes and Q-Tips made pretty.

Toiletries organized in decorative baskets.

Office supplies unified by matching jars.

Filing boxes that are wrapped in decorative fabric.

The mirrored boxes hold receipts in one and rings and watches in the other.

Simply placing your bracelets in a glass vase makes them look much more chic.

Decorative boxes should be your BFF. Sets of any sort of container should be, too. If you have several containers that are all the same color, it instantly unifies all or your clutter and makes it look as if you planned it. You can buy basic, glass jars or vases and tie some twine around all of them, group them together and they look great. What have you done to make your house more organized and prett-i-fied?
